Key Responsibilities
Working as a Long-Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the following:
Truck Driving & Transportation
Long-Haul Driving: Operate heavy trucks over long distances while following transportation and safety regulations.
Team Driving: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when required.
Cargo Transportation: Load and unload goods and ensure cargo is transported safely to its destination.
International Routes: Obtain special permits and other required documentation for transporting cargo on international routes.
Customer Service: Maintain professionalism when dealing with customers and other individuals during transportation operations.
Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance
Vehicle Inspection: Inspect the vehicle before, during, and after trips, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage equipment, and other components.
Brake Adjustments: Perform brake adjustments when required.
Emergency Repairs: Carry out emergency roadside repairs to help keep the vehicle operational.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and monitor the overall condition of the truck.
Safety Checks: Ensure the vehicle and equipment meet required safety standards before and during transportation.
Records & Communication
Dispatch Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
Driver Records: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
