Key Responsibilities
As a Truck Driver, your primary responsibilities would include the following:
- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks
- Transport goods and materials safely and efficiently
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and equipment
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- Complete driver logbooks and inspection reports
- Prepare accident or incident reports
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Tarp and secure cargo to ensure safety
- Conduct emergency roadside repairs when required
Work Environment
Be prepared to work under the following conditions:
- Various local and short-haul routes
- Early morning, morning, evening, and weekend shifts
- Overtime required
- Physically demanding tasks
- Handling loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Large workload and repetitive tasks
- Sitting for extended periods
- On-site work only (no remote option)
- Willingness to travel for extended periods
- Valid driver’s licence required
