Job Requirements for Heavy Truck Driver

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following qualifications and attributes:

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of experience in truck driving, preferably with dump trucks or similar heavy vehicles

Education:

  • Secondary school graduation certificate (Required)

Licences:

  • Valid Class 1/1F/A or Class 3/3F/DF driver’s licence
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Clean driving abstract and current licence verification required

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Manitoba’s road safety regulations
  • Ability to complete trip logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation
  • Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive tasks and sitting for long periods
  • Solid communication skills and attention to detail

Other Requirements:

  • Must own a cellphone and wear steel-toed safety boots
  • Willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Must provide own reliable transportation to job site
