Key Responsibilities
Working as a full-time farm laborer, you will be responsible for the following:
Core Harvesting Duties
- Crop Picking: Manually or mechanically harvesting row and orchard crops.
- Quality Sorting: Examining, weighing, and sorting produce to meet market standards, discarding bruised or damaged items.
- Packaging & Processing: Packing vegetables into crates or boxes on-site.
- Inventory Tracking: Writing daily progress reports regarding the volume of inventory harvested.
Logistics & Maintenance
- Loading & Transport: Loading crates, farm supplies, and produce onto trucks or conveyors for transport.
- Facility Sanitation: Cleaning racks, trays, harvesting bins, and general producing and packing areas.
- Equipment Upkeep: Performing basic cleaning and routine maintenance on agricultural tools and machinery.
Pre & Post-Harvest Responsibilities
- Field Preparation: Assisting with soil preparation, garden bed creation, and irrigation.
- Crop Care: Planting, fertilizing, thinning, and weeding plants before and after the harvest window
