Key Responsibilities
Working as a Forklift Operator – General Freight, you will be responsible for the following:
Freight Loading & Warehouse Operations
- Forklift Operations: Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and move freight within the warehouse and transport areas.
- Truck & Container Handling: Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently while maintaining freight accuracy.
- Freight Management: Handle mixed freight (FAK) and ensure proper sorting, placement, and dispatch procedures.
- Long Fork Extensions: Operate forklifts equipped with long fork extensions when required.
Warehouse & Logistics Support
- Manual Handling: Perform manual lifting and freight handling tasks, including lifting items up to 25kg.
- Inventory Movement: Assist with the movement and organization of goods within warehouse facilities.
- Workflow Coordination: Maintain smooth freight flow while meeting operational deadlines.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow workplace safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
Shift Requirements
- Forklift Freight Loader: Monday to Friday, starting at 2:00 PM, working between 8–12 hours per shift.
- Storeman / Freight Loader: Monday to Friday, starting between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, working between 8–12 hours per shift.

Qualifications
To qualify for this job, you will need the following:
Education
- High school qualification or equivalent preferred
- Relevant warehouse or logistics training is an advantage
Experience
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, freight, or logistics environment
- Experience loading and unloading trucks and containers
- Mixed Freight (FAK) handling experience is desirable
- Experience in the Transport and Logistics Industry is preferred
Certifications
- Valid Forklift Licence or Certification preferred
- Additional warehouse or logistics certifications will be considered an asset
