Key Responsibilities of a Carpenter
As a Carpenter at Westvan Drywall Ltd., you’ll play an important role in shaping and maintaining structures that reflect quality, strength, and skill. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Preparing layouts and ensuring compliance with building codes using measuring tools
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining wood, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roofing systems
- Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Repairing, maintaining, and renovating residential and commercial wooden structures
- Supervising 1 to 2 workers when required
- Ensuring safety, accuracy, and workmanship on every project
Job Requirements for Carpenter Role
To qualify for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
Education
- Other trades certificate or diploma
- Or equivalent work experience
Experience
- 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant carpentry experience
Language
- Fluent in spoken and written English
