Key Responsibilities

As a Food Counter Attendant, you will support the daily operations of a busy food service environment. Your duties may include:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units
  • Clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs
  • Loading buspans and trays
  • Operating dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware
  • Placing clean dishes in designated storage areas
  • Replenishing condiments and supplies at tables and service counters
  • Sanitizing and washing dishes and utensils by hand
  • Scouring pots and pans
  • Keeping records of food quantities used
  • Packaging take-out food orders
  • Portioning and wrapping food items
  • Preparing, heating, and finishing simple food items
  • Serving customers at counters or buffet lines
  • Stocking refrigerators, salad bars, and display areas
  • Taking customer orders accurately
  • Using manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim food ingredients
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, including surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, and equipment
  • Handling and storing cleaning products safely
  • Receiving, unpacking, and organizing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas
  • Removing garbage and waste from kitchen areas
  • Sharpening kitchen knives
  • Sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing floors
  • Washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience is an asset, but not mandatory
  • Ability to work early mornings, mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable and able to follow instructions
  • Must be able to work on-site at the designated locations

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to stay organized in a busy environment
  • Team-oriented and customer-focused
