Key Responsibilities of a Cleaner
As a cleaner at Serco, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a hygienic, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning classrooms, offices, toilets, and shared spaces thoroughly.
- Emptying bins, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, and wiping surfaces.
- Replenishing paper towels, soap, and other supplies.
- Following safety and cleaning instructions accurately.
- Reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Job Requirements for the Cleaner Role
To qualify for the role of cleaner, you must have the following:
Experience & Skills
- Previous cleaning experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Certifications
- Right to work in Australia.
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Police check (or willingness to obtain).
Shift Availability
- Morning: 5:00am – 9:00am
- Afternoon: 3:00pm – 7:00pm
- Split shift: 5:00am – 9:00am and 2:00pm – 6:00pm
- Must be available Monday to Friday
