Key Responsibilities

As a Health Care Assistant at Huntleigh Home, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with their daily living needs while promoting independence, wellbeing, and social engagement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality, personalised care to residents
  • Assisting with activities of daily living in line with Eden principles and wellbeing domains
  • Supporting residents to maintain independence and make personal choices
  • Attending to residents’ needs promptly and compassionately
  • Encouraging social interaction and participation in activities
  • Working under the supervision and guidance of Registered Nurses (RN)
  • Ensuring care is delivered with respect, empathy, and professionalism

Qualifications & Requirements

Huntleigh Home is looking for candidates who possess the following:

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Passion for supporting the wellbeing of older people
  • Good verbal communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work respectfully with residents, families, and colleagues
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred (Not Essential)

  • Previous experience in aged care, healthcare assistance, or support work
  • Willingness to gain relevant healthcare qualifications while working

Additional Requirements

  • Patient, empathetic, and well organised
  • Reliable and able to work within a team environment
  • Legal right to live and work in New Zealand
